Five-year-old Fernand LeBlanc, son of Mr and Mrs Edouard LeBlanc of Memramcook East, died Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a car on the Trans-Canada highway approximately 100 yards from his home.

The boy was running on the side of the road with his nine-year-old brother Raoul, when hit by a car driven by Ray Nix of Collingwood, N.S. Mrs Nix was also an occupant of the vehicle. The body was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Sackville but no inquest or autopsy will be held according to coroner I. D. Schrieves.

Surviving, other than his parents, are three sisters, Pierrrette, 11, Suzanne, 3 and Jacqueline,1; four brothers, Lionel, 10, Raoul, 9, Norbert, 8, and Aimé, 7; along with grandparents Mr and Mrs Alphée LeBlanc of Memramcook East and Mr and Mrs Hervé D. Gaudet of St. Joseph.

The body will be resting at the Dupuis funeral home in St Joseph with an angel service to be held at the Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic church Friday at 4 p.m. Entombment will be in the St Joseph parish cemetery vault awaiting interment later in the spring at the Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
